55 Cancri: The Crucible

55 Cancri is a binary star system with a bright, G-type star (like our Sun), Copernicus, and  a smaller red dwarf, 55 Cancri B.

The 55 Cancri system is the Verge's "gold rush." It is a system of extreme wealth and even more extreme danger, orbited by six planets alongside two extrasolar planets. The inner system is a blazing inferno, while the outer system is a freezing void. There is no "paradise" here. There is only profit.

The entire system is a chaotic "boomtown" centered on a single, hellish world. It is the home of prospectors, corporate enforcers, and desperate people trying to strike it rich.
